Research and Development
Since the 1950s, polymer and fiber R&D has been in our DNA. We are your end-to-end partner for solving polymer challenges and bringing innovations to life: from concept to yarn.
The development of novel biomonomers and biopolymers is accelerating, but translating these innovations into scalable, high-performance materials remains a major challenge. We support companies in converting new monomers into tailored polymer systems with targeted properties, combining expertise in polymerization, modification and processing with in-house validation under realistic processing conditions, including fiber spinning to assess processability and performance. This enables the development of application-ready materials and provides a clear pathway towards scale-up and commercial implementation.

Circular knitting
Circular knitting (to be added)
Yarn properties alone do not always fully represent how a material will perform in an end-use textile structure.
3D-Printing
3D – Printing
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a commonly used 3D printing technique that uses polymer monofilament as its ‘ink’.
Partisol measurements
Chemical/physical characterization
Polution in polymeric samples come in various kinds and shapes. The Partisol technique (Particles In Solution) first dissolves the polymer matrix after which a steady flow through a small cuvet is established.
Pilot tumble dryers
Pilot scale SSP
In the pilot plant two tumble dryers are available for the drying and SSP of thermoplastic polymers. The capacities are 60kg and 120kg. Solid State Polymerization (SSP) is a process in which the polymer chain lengths are increased by heat in the absence of oxygen and water, in this case by means of vacuum.
Solid state polymerization (SSP) rotary evaporator
Pilot scale SSP
Next to drying we can offer solid state polymerization (SSP) on a kg scale. SSP is a process in which the polymer chain lengths are increased by heat.
Laboratory scale SSP equipment
Pilot scale SSP
The product obtained by our polycondensation autoclave can be further polymerized in our laboratory scale SSP equipment.
